Welcome to Youth Unlimited

Youth Unlimited is the website for young people aged between 13-19 living in the South Gloucestershire area. The site aims to promote positive activities for young people and information for young people on anything from sexual health to transport.     

Youth centres opening times are changing. For up to date info have a look at the youth centres page and click on your centre.

Some youth centres have fan pages on Facebook. Click here to check if your local centre is there and get up to date info.

   

World Sickle Cell Awareness Day

June 19th is World Sickle Cell Awareness Day. Sickle Cell Disorders (SCD) are a genetic disease which affects mainly people from African, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern origin. SCD affects red blood cells which become shaped like a sickle, hence the name of the disorder.

It causes severe and very painful attacks and can leads to damage to organs. For more information on Sicle cell visit the Sickle Cell Society website .

 

Men's Health Week

This week is Men's Health week running from June 10th-16th. This year's theme is around mental health and talking about issues. With 3 out 4 suicides being committed by men and 73% of all missing persons being men, the stigma of men's mental health needed to be addressed. Have a look at the Men's Health Website or at the calm (Campaign Against Living Miserably) website which is aimed specifically at men/ young men.

Carers week

Carers week  is running from June 10th- 16th and this year's theme is "Prepare to care". It is estimated that over 175 000 young people aged under 18 have caring responsibilities with a small number caring for someone else for 50 hrs a week.
