Youth fora get involved in loads of different things like ......
You don't have to be super-confident, just have something to say, you will get support from the Youth Forum and workers. As part of a Youth Forum you will get to meet new people, have fun and do new things.
Youth Forums for 12 - 19 year olds are being created in South Gloucestershire so that young people can have more of say in what happens in their local area, if you'd like to get involved or find out more contact Vicki or Julia on 01454 865252 or email Youthforum@southglos.gov.uk
Since January 10 young people have got together to think about what they would do to improve their area and what are the issues for young people in the Kingswood locality. Street Safety and Things to do Places to go have been voiced as priorities.
The forum have decided to meet 3 weekly alternating between a Weds and a Fri. Click here to download the poster

Over the last few months, the group has re-named itself as “Teen Thoughts” and are currently working to develop a logo and then some leaflets and flyers to publicise the work that the forum are doing.
The group members successfully applied for money from the Big Stash to buy equipment to produce an information leaflet for young people from the Severnvale locality and have just begun to visit different areas all over Severnvale to speak to other young people to get their views on places to go and things to do where they live. So if you see us out and about please let us know what there is to do in your area.
Along with other local young people, the group are hoping to be involved with the new development of the Severnvale Hub, which will be built by late 2011 in Patchway.
If you’re interested in finding out more or joining us in any of these projects (and you live or go to school in the Severnvale area), please contact Julia on 01454 865252 / 07946 721429 or email ; Julia.leary@southglos.gov.uk
