South Gloucestershire Youth Service offers lots of opportunities for young people to gain recognition and certificates for what they enjoy doing, through a range of awards.
Here's some of the awards on offer
- South Gloucestershire Award: this will be done through the youth centre, so contact your youth worker for more details
- The Youth Achievement Award: This will be set up through your youth centre but can cover activities you do outside the youth centre, for example swimming or learning musical instrument. Your Youth centre will have more detail.
There are different levels depending on how much responsibility you take in the organisation of the activities you're doing
- The Duke of Edinburgh's Award: This award can be started in most youth centres which can deliver a section of the award but you will generally need to join an open award centre to complete the whole award.
There are different sections to complete to finish the award and as there are different levels(Bronze to Gold) you can more from one to another. Ask your Youth centre for more information, call Addy, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award development worker on 01454 86 5746 or visit the Duke of Edinburgh's Award website
